The room did not feel like a flashy new lifestyle hotel.
Instead, it had a restrained, slightly traditional European character that suited the historic surroundings of Brno.
My room was comfortable for a short stay, the bed was well presented, and the overall atmosphere was quiet enough to relax after a long travel day.

The bathroom made a slightly different impression from the bedroom.
It felt brighter and more contemporary, with a bathtub and a clean layout.

After spending much of the evening walking around Brno, having a proper bathtub was a welcome detail.

Locals call it the Brno Dragon, or Brněnský drak.
Look at it for a few seconds, however, and the obvious question appears: isn't that a crocodile?
Yes.
The city's famous “dragon” is a crocodile, but centuries of local legend have turned it into one of Brno's most recognizable symbols.
The contrast is precisely what makes it fun.
You arrive expecting another historic town hall and suddenly find a crocodile suspended above your head.
And Then There Is the Brno Wheel
Nearby hangs another object associated with one of the city's best-known legends: a large wooden wagon wheel.
The Brno Wheel and the Brno Dragon are displayed in the Old Town Hall passage and have become two unusual symbols of the city.
This is one reason I enjoyed Brno more than expected.
Its history doesn't always present itself as a formal museum exhibit. Sometimes it appears as a strange crocodile and a wooden wheel hanging above a passageway.
