Where to Eat at Prague Airport Terminal 2: U Václava Pilsner Urquell Restaurant
If you have some time before your flight from Prague, there is no need to finish your Czech trip with just a sandwich from an airport convenience store.
Before heading through security at Prague Václav Havel Airport Terminal 2, I stopped at U Václava, a Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant in the public area.
My final meal in the Czech Republic was simple: a warm soup, salmon with roasted potatoes and sugar snap peas, and one last glass of Pilsner Urquell.
This is my firsthand review of this Prague Airport Terminal 2 restaurant, including where to find it, what I ordered, what I paid for the salmon and one important detail you should know before going through security.
1. Where Is U Václava at Prague Airport?
This is the most important detail to know.
U Václava is in Terminal 2's public area. In other words, you can visit the restaurant before passing through the security checkpoint.
Airport: Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG)
Terminal: Terminal 2
Area: Public Area
Security: Before security
Restaurant: Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant U Václava
Opening hours: 07:00–21:00 daily
Best for: A sit-down meal and Czech beer before departure
This makes the restaurant particularly useful if you arrive early or simply want to sit down for one final Czech meal before entering the airside part of the airport.
Remember these three things: Terminal 2 → Public Area → Before Security. There is another Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant in Terminal 2, Pier C, after the checkpoint. Do not confuse the two locations.
2. What I Ordered at U Václava
The daily offer during my visit included a salmon dish. The Czech menu read:
Salmon with roasted potatoes and sugar snap peas
475 CZK
After several days of Central European travel, a relatively straightforward salmon dish sounded appealing.
The English translation printed directly on the daily menu also made ordering easy without having to work out the Czech description.
Price note: 475 CZK was the price shown on the daily-offer menu during my visit and should not be treated as a guaranteed current price.
3. Starting with Something Warm
Before the salmon, I had a bowl of warm soup accompanied by a piece of dark bread.
I did not record the exact menu name at the time, so I will not try to identify the soup from the photograph alone.
It was a small detail, but sitting down with something warm made the meal feel very different from grabbing a cold airport snack and rushing toward the gate.
4. Salmon with Roasted Potatoes and Sugar Snap Peas
Then came the main course.
The plate consisted of a substantial piece of salmon, small roasted potatoes and a generous portion of green sugar snap peas.
It was uncomplicated and filling without feeling excessively heavy, which was exactly what I wanted before getting on a flight.
At 475 CZK, this is airport-level pricing rather than a budget meal in central Prague. But travelers searching for where to eat at Prague Airport Terminal 2 may appreciate having a proper hot meal rather than another sandwich.
If you have spent several days eating pork, sausages and other heavier Czech dishes, a fish option can make a pleasant change before flying.
5. One Last Pilsner Urquell Before Leaving Prague
Of course, there was one obvious drink to order.
Pilsner Urquell.
This is a Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant, and finishing the Czech part of my trip with a draft beer felt entirely appropriate.
There is something rather different about the last beer of a trip. Your suitcase is beside you, the departure hall is only a few steps away, and you know the journey is almost over.
For travelers specifically searching for Pilsner Urquell at Prague Airport, U Václava has the additional advantage of being accessible before Terminal 2 security.
6. Before Security or After Security? This Matters
Prague Airport has more than one Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant. That makes the exact location important.
| U Václava | Terminal 2, Public Area — before security |
| Another Pilsner Urquell | Terminal 2, Pier C — past the checkpoint |
If your intention is specifically to eat at U Václava, do it before entering security.
Terminal 2.
Public Area.
Before Security.
Those are the three details worth remembering.
7. Who Is U Václava Best For?
| Best feature | Convenient location before Terminal 2 security |
| Food style | Hot sit-down meals and Czech dishes |
| Beer | Pilsner Urquell |
| Price level | Airport pricing |
| My order | Soup + salmon daily offer + Pilsner Urquell |
| Good for | Travelers with enough time for a relaxed meal before security |
For me, U Václava was less about finding the cheapest meal at Prague Airport and more about having a comfortable final meal before leaving the Czech Republic.
If you arrive at Terminal 2 with enough time before departure, it is a useful option to know about.
8. The Last Meal Can Be Part of the Trip
We tend to remember the first meal of a journey. The last one receives less attention.
But sometimes that final meal becomes part of the travel memory too.
For me, it was a warm bowl of soup, salmon and roasted potatoes, and a glass of Pilsner Urquell at Prague Airport.
Then it was time to pick up the luggage, head toward security and say goodbye to the Czech Republic.
